Beginners Course

A course designed for the absolute beginner.

  • Frame Structures and preparation.
  • Machine types.
  • Basic tools.
  • String composition and characteristics.
  • Standard stringing patterns.
  • Basic stringing techniques.
  • Grommet replacement.
  • Standard knots.
  • Basic grip replacement and size issues.
  • Problem avoidance.
  • Business issues; what to charge, stock and recommended suppliers.

Advanced Course

$140 - 3 hours

This course is designed for the already experienced stringer, and concentrates on more advanced techniques such as;

  • Speed stringing techniques.
  • Gut stringing techniques (if required).
  • Basic Machine maintenance.
  • Hybrid stringing.
  • Frame customizing.
  • Stringing patterns including RTW's and variations of them.
  • Special knots.
  • Recommended tools and equipment advice.

These courses are run on a private one to one basis and taken by Anthony Aley who qualified as an ERSA Master Racket Technician in 2003 under the guidance of Sam Chan who has strung at all 4 Grand Slam Tournaments and is respected as one of the worlds top stringers.  The courses are run at the stringing workshop, 140 Boscoe Rd, Narangba, Brisbane however I may also be able to come to you (depending on where you are and if you have enough equipment).  Call for details.
