Mini Tennis

Red.....this is the first stage of the internationally acclaimed mini tennis programme and is very important for building the core skills and confidence of the young mini tennis player.  The emphasis is on movement and coordination, and an introduction to simple rallying and playing the game. matchpoint is the first tennis coaching provider in Australia to offer the complete programme and our coaches have undergone specialised training specifically for mini tennis!  We only use special customised equipment - official minitennis balls, nets and rackets!

Red mini tennis is for kids in grades prep and 1 but of course all ages can play - it's great fun!

All players in our mini tennis programmes receive a free tennis racket to start them off and then collect awesome prizes as they progress through the award scheme; best of all all the kids have a great time learning with our specially trained staff.

So come on!

.....when the Red mini tennis players have reached the required standard they are moved onto the next level! Welcome to orange mini tennis.... this introduces children to playing tennis on a 3/4 length court with a special low bounce bright orange mini tennis ball. This slows the game down to give the player time to learn good basic tennis shots and have maximum fun playing the game!

Too often junior players are moved from small court tennis to big court tennis with hard tennis balls and find it too hard!  The results are all to common...lack of success = lack of interest = don't want to play tennis anymore because its to hard.

Mini Tennis solves this problem!

Orange mini tennis is perfect for kids in grades 2 to 4.

.....this is the final stage of the fantastic mini tennis award programme! Played on a full court with bright green tennis balls that are just slightly lighter and slower than a normal pressurised ball, green mini tennis is great for helping players learn good technique and most importantly how to rally with confidence.  Physical skills are still an important part.

Green mini tennis is normally for children aged 8 years and upwards but can be dependant on the standard of the child.

Tennis Australia has now incorporated Mini Tennis into it's official program as the MLC Hotshot Program which we are an official provider of at all our venues.

Private Coaching is available on request.
