A great next step for junior players

The Matchpoint Junior Club Championships are a fantastic opportunity for our junior players to experience match play in a fun, supportive and confidence-building environment.

Whether your child is brand new to competition or already loves playing matches, this event is designed to help players learn, compete, build confidence and enjoy the challenge of playing against others.

Our coaching team will be there to support players, help with scoring, explain the format and make sure the day runs smoothly.

Players will get to:

  • Play multiple matches
  • Practise scoring and match routines
  • Build confidence under pressure
  • Learn tennis etiquette and sportsmanship
  • Compete in a positive club environment

Who can play?

This event is open to Matchpoint junior players across our Hot Shots and junior development pathway. Players will be placed into suitable divisions based on their stage and level.

Orange Ball

Great for players developing stronger rally skills, court positioning and match confidence.

Green Ball

Ideal for players starting to compete on a larger court and build more tactical awareness.

Yellow Ball

For older or more experienced juniors ready to compete in full-court match play.

What to bring

  • Tennis racquet

  • Hat and sunscreen
  • Snacks
  • A positive attitude

Built for learning, not just winning

The focus of the Junior Club Championships is on effort, learning, sportsmanship and enjoyment.

Competition is one of the best ways for young players to improve because it helps them practise decision-making, resilience, scoring and match routines in real situations.

And yes, there may also be a healthy amount of friendly rivalry. Tennis without a tiny bit of scoreboard drama would be suspicious.

Parent information

Parents are welcome to stay, watch and support their child throughout the event. Exact match formats and timings may vary depending on player numbers and divisions.

This event is a great stepping stone for players who are ready to move from lessons into more match play. For many players, this may be their first proper tennis event, and that is exactly why we want them involved.
